Notes from the Lodge Administrator, May 2020

In the famous words of Forest Gump: ” Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get!”

I think I can speak for us all. We did not sign up for this. We have all been impacted by the stay at home order in our county. Even those that are retired find this over whelming.
While we all understand why we need to distance to stay safe and virus free, it’s still hard to believe its real.

I would like to explain as it pertains to our lodge. We are monitoring the San Mateo County Environmental Health website for any changes to the shelter in place and public gathering mandates. As soon as these orders are relaxed we will inform all members how we will safely proceed with re-opening our lodge. In the meantime all we can do is continue to follow guidelines and remain safe.

We are still meeting remotely as a board and discussing things we can do and be prepared for an immediate restart. I do check the lodge phone messages often. So, if there is anything you need please leave a message at 650-355-1540. I will call you back.

Our prelate Jere Morgan has been making calls to many members, asking if there’s anything we can do to help. Please make sure we have good phone numbers and addresses.

Please stay safe and protected. I hope we will be contacting you soon with good news regarding re-opening.

Thank you to all.

See you at the lodge!

Notes from the Lodge Administrator, March 2020

It appears we skipped the second half of winter and jumped right into spring. This weather is crazy. So, we may as well enjoy it. Lots happening at the lodge this spring, so I hope you have your calendars posted on the refrigerator where they belong. We will be celebrating our 60th Anniversary of the Lodge Charter along with the installation of the new Woman’s and Men’s board of officers for the upcoming term 2020-2021, on April 25th. So please come join us for this momentous celebration.

As always I want to welcome the newest members of the lodge that have joined over the last few months. As they are the life blood of our organization and what keeps us growing and getting better. I also want all of our volunteers to know that the time and effort they put in is what makes the difference in our success. I know it sounds cliché but it’s what makes Pacifica lodge noticeably special.

Thank you to all.

See you at the lodge!

Notes from the Lodge Administrator, November 2019

As 2019 goes flying by, we are quickly approaching the holiday season. For many of us it is our favorite time of the year. It is the time when family and friends mean just a little bit more. Time to reflect on all we have to be thankful for, and the season for giving (the greatest joy of all).

I want to personally thank our volunteer members that give so much of their time to help our lodge succeed. Pacifica Lodge has again received the Premier Lodge Award from Moose International. Special thanks to all lodge officer,s Men and Women, all members that help cook, bartend, set-up and clean-up crews, and bingo committee. Also the newest volunteer members we have this year (and we are always looking for more). Thank you all!

It is a great pleasure to announce the complete cook line has been replaced. A new 36” char-broiler, two new ovens, six burner cook top and two new deep fryers, one is for fish only. Take a peek when you’re there. This was all possible with members’ donations. I cannot overstate what great members we have when it comes to giving and donating for these costly upgrades.

It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to long time member and great friends John Marzillo and Joe Kwartz and also Brother Jimmy Mullhall all recently passing. Please keep their families in your prayers. I have fond memories of them all.

Please have a great Holiday season and please come by the Lodge for some good old-fashioned Moose cheer.

January 2019 Notes from the Lodge Administrator

Happy New Year one and all.

I hope everyone had a great Chist-Moose. I would like to thank the ladies for decorating the lodge for Christmas. It always looks great for the holidays. I would like to thank
you all for another great year behind us. 2018 was one to be proud of filled with so many great accomplishment. The parking lot was completed. and still were able to keep up with the charitable donations that were sent to Moose Heart and Moose Haven. Also all the local donations given are what we are known for and most proud of. I thank you all for your generosity and keeping Pacifica Moose Lodge the talk of the town.

I am looking forward to 2019 being even better. It’s not about making a donation. It’s about making a difference.

Fraternally Yours
