Letter from the Governor, May 2020

Hello Brothers and Co Workers

First, I want to say thank you for following orders and sheltering in place, wearing your masks and staying 6’ apart. This is the fastest way we can get back to being together. Also I want to thank everyone for shopping and getting takeout food from Pacifica restaurants, this helps keep our community strong.

I’ve been spending a lot of time with my family, dinners together, board games, gardening, and the Honey-Do List. Now it’s time to start back up our Moose Family. We will be starting food pick up orders on May 7th. Order times are 5-7 pm. Steak sandwiches and fries only for now. Hands free to the box. Check the newsletter for more information.

OK, let’s hand out 5 free drink chips. For the first five Moose members who order their food and say, “I miss you guys” I will give a drink chip to when you pick up your food. Remember this is a time to be grateful, kind to others and patient. Hopefully we will see you soon.

Letter from the Governor, March 2020

Hello Brothers and Co Workers

I’m sorry to say this will be my last letter for the year as your Governor. I just want to say thank you for helping us stay one of the top Moose Lodges in all of California/Neveda. With your help this past year we were not only able to donate to the Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment, Special Projects, and Moose Charities. We also were a model in our community, donating over $60,000 back to a number of organizations, supporting kids programs in Pacifica. Where else can you go and get a 12-ounce Steak Dinner, free parking, meet your friends/family in a safe and friendly environment, have a drink, watch your favorite sports events and spend under $20.00 bucks. Sign Me Up… I look forward to supporting our new Governor and Sr Regent along with the rest of our new board, they will start May 1st 2020. Lets make 2020/2021 our best year yet. Together we can anything.

Ok, free drink time. The first five members who come up to me with a positive experience they had with the Pacifica Moose Lodge, will get a drink chip from me.

Thank you again for a great year.

Letter from the Governor, January 2020

Hello Brothers and Co Workers

We have had a great 2019. We installed new kitchen appliances, with a larger grill to keep those steaks coming. Our board of officers is strong and has new ideas. Our membership is growing fast and the Men and Woman of the Moose are one, at the association level. We have come a long way.

Together we can only get better. Lets make sure we help each other be successful. Let this season bring out the best in you. Have fun, Michael Mooney once told me, laughter is the key. He’s right. Making someone else feel good is a great reward. Try it.

You know what else is a great reward? Free drinks, and I have 5 to give away. Remember to be fair, let everyone find them on their own. Who ever can tell me what they did to help us with the bottom column on page 10 will get a free drink from yours truly. Now lets kick off 2020 positive, outgoing, fun, and together.

That’s all for now.

Fraternally Yours

Letter from the Governor, November 2019

Hello Brothers and Co Workers

It’s the busy time of year. It’s getting dark earlier, Indian summer is here, fire season and blackouts are reminding us to be prepared and stock up with the essentials we need at home. We all need to make adjustments to our lives, this is the new normal. If you want to get away from the craziness or get crazy, come to your Moose Lodge functions. Sign up at the bar, we need your support. Attendance for our last few events has been low. Let’s have some fun together. Check the calendar for upcoming events.

Have you seen our new kitchen cooking area? Big thanks to Rich Russitano and Tim Meyerhoff for multiple days working in the kitchen. I’d also like to thank Tony Johnson and Bando Bonilla for helping with loose ends to complete the project.

Free drink time! The first five members who come up to me and tell me what new item has been added to the regular menu will get a drink chip.

So just remember: have fun, make new friends, be positive and be part of something bigger than yourself.

Letter from the Governor, September 2019

Hello Brothers and Co Workers

This year is moving along so fast. The kids are already back in school, Highway 1 is backed up and we are filling up the Social Quarters with friends and family. Remember to sign up for events early, it helps us get a count so we can shop for the event.

Become a volunteer, even if its only returning your drink glass to the Bar. Remember its your Moose Lodge, together we can do anything.

Our Legion Olympics is Sunday Sept. 15th, join a team its at our Lodge, and help raise some money for the kids.

O.K. where are those free drink chips hiding? Only one chip per table. The first 5 members who can tell me what page 10 upper column in the newsletter is about will get a drink chip.

So just remember have fun, make new friends, be positive and be part of something bigger than yourself.

Letter from the Governor, July 2019

Hello Brothers and Co Workers

Welcome to summer at the Pacifica Moose Lodge. We have a lot to do and even more fun to have. With all the activities going on here we can always use a helping hand. The kitchen crew is a great way to get started, 2 to 3 hours once or twice a month is all it takes. Soon we will have new appliances in our kitchen with the help of our members donations “Thank You”. Sign up to help or just come on in and support.

We have Line Dancing, Karaoke or just enjoy Thursday or Friday night dinners. Please sign up for upcoming events, the binder is at the bar area.

Ok, free drink time. The first five people, not from the same table, that can tell me, what does it say on page 3 bottom right at the smiley face and what is page 15 about, will receive a drink chip from me.

So just remember have fun, make new friends, be positive and be part of something bigger than yourself.

Letter from the Governor, May 2019

Hello All,

My name is Paul Lavorini, and I will be your new Governor for the upcoming board, for the 2019-2020 Moose year.

I want to first say thank you, to our most resent WOTM and LOOM board members. This has been a most productive year. Not only on recruiting new Moose members, but giving our members something to do. Line dancing and Karaoke are just a couple ways to have fun, and get fit if you know what I mean.

Let’s keep this year going, get involved, make friends, and get off your butts and have Fun.

O.K. FREE DRINK time: the first 5 members who come up to me ( not board members) and name off 3 new board members, will get a drink on me.

Thank you for all you do and I look forward to seeing you around the lodge.

Fraternally Yours

Letter from the Governor, March 2019

As I sit and ponder on the year and this being my last newsletter, I would like to thank everyone at this lodge for your support throughout this year during my time as your Governor. A special thank you and a show of appreciation to the Women of the Moose for all their support to me and my board of Officers. I thank my Board of Offices for their support and us having a great year here at the lodge.

Please keep in mind we can always use more volunteers in the upcoming events that we will be having. We need help in the kitchen, setting up, cleaning up, etc. We also need more kids (13-18) to help serve on Thursday and Friday nights. Please contact Cynthia Ussery.

We have brought in new beer from Pedro Point Brewery. We hope that you have been enjoying it. If you would like to try another one of their beers, just let the bartender or myself know. We will see if we can get it!

REMINDER: Please make sure to use the sign-up book for dinner and upcoming events. This really helps us with headcount for food. Please also make sure to put down the correct amount of people so we don’t waste food or turn people away that wanted to sign up. There are certain dinners (prime rib night and big events) were we put a limit on how many people can sign up. If you sign up 10 and only 3 people show up, this is not fair to those that wanted to sign up. So please make sure people are committed and if they are not going to show up please let us know as soon as possible.

This year continues to be fun and filled with great learning experiences for both myself and the lodge. Please continue to give us your feedback and suggestions. I wish the new Board of Officers a successful and fun year.

If you are interested in being a part of the Board of Officers let us know. It is a great experience for a great cause.

Have a great day,
Fraternally Yours
