Letter from the Governor, November 2020

Howdy to all the Pacifica Moose Lodge Members,

It seems like an episode of the Twilight Zone! The Lodge has been closed since March. The San Mateo County Health Officer has been working hard to move us down the tier level. There are four levels: purple the most extreme, red where we are now, orange where we hope to be very soon, and then yellow is our goal.

We, like many other businesses, have struggled to open or stay open. Your support during this time is especially important. Our commitments are still there. Bills need to be paid. Our support to Mooseheart and Moosehaven must be met.

We are currently spending more than we are bringing in. As mentioned, we are currently at the red level which means we can open at 25% occupancy. As we make plans to open and host events, we will need your help.

We are looking for sponsors for many items or cash donations. Even though our takeout has been generating some funds it has fallen short of matching our expenses. If you would like to sponsor the to-go packaging or give a cash donation that would be a great help.
I know that somehow, we will all get through this if we all do our part.

Face coverings and washing your hands may seem like a simple task but it works.

We have put all the required protocols in place with the county health department and once we get the OK to open, we will be ready.

Our plan is to offer inside and outside dining in November (by reservation only) for our Steak Night Dinners, we will continue with the takeout indefinitely. We encourage you to drop a little extra in the endowment fund when you can.

Membership is what drives our Lodge, we need you more now than ever. Check your membership card if it expired please renew. If you know someone that may want to join, please ask them. To our new members, the Enrollment Dinner is November 10th, 2020 at 6:00 PM. Moving forward we are going to have fun and enjoy seeing everyone.

Fraternally Yours
Leonard Iniguez
